Gachi: Surroundings and Companions

Poster.jpg

Welcome to <Gachi (가치/같이): Surroundings and Companions> exhibition by 4482[SASAPARI].

In Korean, the words for "Value" (가치) and "Together" (같이) are written differently but share the same pronunciation: Gachi. This exhibition series is hosted in the heart of our local café—a place where we pause to recapture our thoughts, meet friends, and create memories. Here, we invite artists and visitors alike to experience the "Gachi" of art: building shared value through the act of being together.

In an era defined by rapid digital consumption and a hyper-mobile lifestyle, we often move through the world at a speed that blurs our surroundings into a fleeting streak of data. This project serves as a reminder that as we move across different environments, our surroundings are constantly being reshaped.

For those who have crossed borders to settle in new lands, "surroundings" are never static; they are a delicate, layered blend of new horizons and the memories we carry like shadows. Our past environments inevitably inform how we perceive our current ones. By slowing down, we acknowledge that our personal story is not a fixed point, but a fluid evolution influenced by every landscape we inhabit.
