Hongil Yoon
Hongil Yoon (윤홍일) is a London and Seoul-based artist who graduated Royal College of Art MFA (2025) and Glasgow School of Art First Class Honours recipient. Yoon won the J D Kelly Memorial Prize and was shortlisted for the 2025 Global Creative Graduate Showcase. Notable exhibitions include solo shows at SaltSpace Cooperative and group showcases at Oxo Gallery, Hypha Gallery, and the RCA.
Yoon's practice explores isolation and the loss of identity through ambiguous memory. His work examines the tension between collective external forces and individuality, particularly within marginalized identities, constructing new sensory strata through geometric and dynamic forms.

A Void Room abstractly expresses the process of seeking stillness within a chaotic world. Unstable, fragmented forms meet stable fields of color, colliding and reconciling within the composition as a way of visualizing the adjustment of inner balance. The work suggests the construction of a psychological space where chaos and quietness, tension and acceptance coexist.

Slip presents a state of quiet stillness and inner recovery after the noise of emotion has subsided. An unstable figure appears to dissolve into sharply divided pastel planes, suggesting a gentle return to the self and the rediscovery of one’s own rhythm and breath. Through this fragile transition, the work reveals an uneasy sense of solace emerging from fragmented memories.
