Ding! Creative Corners

‘Not the centre. Not the spotlight. But where it all begins.’

Ding! Creative Corners introduces four emerging Korean artists based in the UK. Selected through an open call for artists who completed their studies within the last five years, they explore themes of Community, Local, Nature, People, and Meeting Art in Casual Spaces, expressing personal experiences and stories through their work.

Through painting, digital prints, and installations, the artworks appear in three cafés across South West London—Café 63 High St.(New Malden), Café Macarong (Hampton Court) and Yayhouse (Wimbledon Chase) —bringing contemporary art into everyday spaces rather than traditional gallery settings. The project enables audiences to encounter art naturally during everyday moments, whether enjoying a cup of coffee or taking a pause.

Each café has its own unique character and connection to the local community, enhancing the dialogue between artwork and space. Ding! Creative Corners provides emerging artists with a valuable platform to present their work, while offering audiences a rare chance to experience young Korean artists’ creations in familiar, everyday settings. Beyond a traditional exhibition, it creates a meeting point where art, daily life, artists, audiences, and the local community intersect.
