Inside 4482: Meet the Team is a series where we share the people behind 4482 through short interviews â how they joined, what theyâre working on, and what brought them here.
Meet Seoyoung Kim, Senior Curator of 4482. She joined the team in 2017, when 4482 was revitalised with new projects and ideas. Outside 4482, she works as a curator at Kingston Museum and is a scholar of 19th-century photographer Eadweard Muybridge.
One of her most memorable projects at 4482 was âButterfly Effectâ (2018), held at the Barge House, OXO Tower Wharf â a major exhibition showcasing the inspiring work of dozens of Korean contemporary artists.
When asked about her favourite gallery in London, Seoyoung highlights the Hayward Gallery at Southbank, noting recent shows by Tavares Strachan and Yoshitomo Nara as particularly inspiring.

đđź Meet Dr. Gee Sun Hahn, Lead Curator of 4482. Gee Sun joined the team in 2022, bringing her academic background in Arts and Museum Studies, with a research focus on Korean heritage and identity. For her, 4482 has become a meaningful gateway to presenting Korean culture within the UK art world.
One of her most memorable projects was K-Women: Celebrating Korean Female Artists â a turning point that deepened 4482âs relationship with artists and redefined how the platform can truly support and collaborate with them.

We live in a fast-paced, screen-driven world where our surroundings are easily overlooked. For many of us â especially those living across borders â finding anchors in a new place becomes an act of memory and survival. In 2026, 4482 explores the environments and companions that quietly shape who we are and how a place begins to feel like home.
As a project of this year, we are launching an Artist Open Call.

Gachi means both value(ę°ěš) and together(ę°ě´) in Korean. This exhibition series takes place in a local cafĂŠ, inviting artists to reclaim a slow gaze and reflect on Surroundings (landscapes, cityscapes) and Companions (human, animal, or botanical bonds).

âDurĂŠe Pureâ â or pure duration â takes its cue from Henri Bergsonâs notion of time as lived experience rather than mechanical measurement.
Each artist explores this fluidity of time through a deeply subjective lens: time melting, pausing, dripping, being held, and circling back again.
Through materials like metal, canvas, wood, wax, makeup, and pigment, the artists reveal how time resides within matter â what has already passed and what remains.
