Artist
Dohyun Baek
Dohyun Baek is a South Korean multidisciplinary artist based in London, working across painting, installation, sculpture, and performance. His practice explores human vulnerability and absurdity through dark humour and surreal imagery.
He reflects on the tension between productivity and uselessness in contemporary life—between living as a “useful human” and creating the “beautifully useless.” Through intuitive processes and material dialogue, he embraces accidents, imperfection, and the poetic wastefulness of making.
Recent exhibitions include the Walker Art Gallery (Liverpool), New Art Exchange (Nottingham), and Salon De Art Gallery (Seoul).
